Mykor secures investment from Sustainable Ventures and Green Angel Syndicate to launch insulation product

The funding will support the certification and market launch of MykoFoam alongside pilot manufacturing facilities.
Mykor is a biotechnology company developing low-carbon construction materials from waste streams.
Biotechnology start-up Mykor has secured new investment from backers including Sustainable Ventures and Green Angel Syndicate to support its ongoing development. The capital will enable the firm to certify and launch its flagship MykoFoam insulation product in the UK and Portuguese markets.
In addition to market entry, the funding will be directed towards expanding the team in Portugal, building a pilot factory, and testing concepts for upcoming projects. The company aims to provide price-competitive, fire-resistant, and carbon-negative alternatives to traditional thermal insulation materials.
Mykor previously funded its early research and development through various grants from Innovate UK and the European Union. The founders intend to leverage the intellectual property developed from this initial product to expand into new sectors.
