Mondra raises £3.6m in pre-series A funding to scale supply chain decarbonisation platform
The pre-series A round was backed by investors including AlbionVC and Ponderosa Ventures to support UK rollout and international expansion.
Mondra provides an artificial intelligence platform designed to help food supply chains measure and reduce their environmental impact.
London based Mondra has secured £3.6m in pre series A funding to accelerate its rollout among British grocers and prepare for international expansion. The investment round was backed by 7 Generation Ventures, AlbionVC, GC Foodtech Ventures, Peakbridge, Ponderosa Ventures, and Vala Capital.
The capital will be directed towards expanding the platform usage across UK supermarkets, where a large majority of grocers are already signed up, alongside preparing for entry into European markets and consumer packaged goods segments. The funding will also support the introduction of new retailer insight tools and enhanced agricultural data capabilities.
Founded by Jason Barrett, the company builds digital twins of food supply chains to help brands and retailers measure scope three emissions and run lifecycle assessments. The fresh injection of capital follows the recent launch of the British Retail Consortium coalition, aimed at establishing unified industry standards for environmental performance.
Investor perspective
"We believe that Mondra’s footprinting solution can not only assist companies in meeting their scope 3 emissions reductions targets but can also support product development teams in improving products to meet the demands of end-consumers. In this way, we expect Mondra to help customers drive both impact and commercial outcomes."
