Ascension's Fair By Design fund led the pre-seed round, with participation from Ada Ventures, Redrice Ventures and True.
Mirthy operates a community and activities platform designed to connect adults over the age of sixty. The platform provides online lectures, fitness classes, and social groups to combat isolation.
Mirthy has secured £800k in pre-seed funding to expand its digital platform for older adults. The round was led by Ascension through its Fair By Design fund, with additional backing from Ada Ventures, Redrice Ventures, and True.
Launched during the pandemic, the startup serves more than 30,000 users with online group activities, lectures, and social events. The fresh capital will support the company as it develops offline meetup capabilities and prepares to introduce a membership subscription offering various consumer discounts.
From the founder
"While dialogue around an ageing population focuses on the growing burden on health services, my experience sees a generation of people with more energy, desire for life and time than ever before,"

Investor perspective
"we love the team’s vision to leverage tech that promotes social inclusion and opens up the world for people in their 60s, rather than make it smaller. We truly believe the recipe for successful impact investing at scale lies with backing the right founders and mindset. And we are so excited to have found this with Alex & Dhruv."
