MediMusic is a medical technology start-up based in Hull that uses artificial intelligence to generate personalised playlists to help manage pain, anxiety and stress. The company developed MediBeat, a streaming device and application designed for use in hospitals, surgeries and care homes.

Hull-based health technology firm MediMusic has secured £1.2m in a funding round to scale its operations. The investment was backed by Finance Yorkshire alongside the University of Hull, Sauce Consultants and private backers.

The capital follows clinical trials indicating that the company system can reduce heart rates in dementia patients. The funds will support the broader commercialisation of its proprietary streaming device and application, MediBeat.

Finance Yorkshire contributed £200k from its seedcorn fund towards the total package. The regional investor provides flexible capital to growing enterprises across Yorkshire and the Humber.
