Parkwalk Advisors led the financing round, which will support UK sales growth and international expansion plans.
Legislate provides a contract management platform that uses knowledge graph technology to make agreements machine readable and searchable for businesses. The company primarily serves startups and scaleups looking to streamline legal terms and employment documents.
Legislate has secured £3m in a funding round led by Parkwalk Advisors, with participation from Oxford Capital and several high profile angel investors. The company plans to use the capital to accelerate its UK sales operations and prepare for international expansion.
Founded by Charles Brecque, the Oxford University linked platform uses patented knowledge graph technology to turn contracts into machine readable documents. This allows non legal teams across growing businesses to easily query, compare, and manage agreements.
The latest capital injection follows a productive period for the firm, which was granted its second US patent for semantic document generation last year. With the new funds, Legislate aims to build on this momentum and scale its footprint among small and medium enterprises.
From the founder
"For scaling companies, keeping track of terms across hundreds or thousands of contracts is a challenge that creeps up on you. Searching for basic information like contract start and end dates, or nuances in confidentiality terms across entire databases of contracts is painfully manual, or impossible. Before working with us, we know that some of our customers would spend weeks doing this"

Investor perspective
"Legislate has developed a unique solution to simplify contracting for SMEs and mid-market businesses in a way that scales. We’re confident that they are well-positioned to take a significant portion of the market. Their focus on making contracts machine-readable is particularly impressive and we believe it has the potential to be a game-changer in the industry,"
