GV led the seed financing round to support team expansion and technology development.
Lawhive provides an AI-native operating system designed to streamline consumer legal services for lawyers and clients. The firm operates across the US and the UK.
Lawhive has secured £9.5m in a seed funding round led by GV to expand its operations and develop its technology. The investment follows a period of rapid growth for the legaltech startup, which has developed an AI lawyer named Lawrence to streamline workflows for solicitors.
The UK consumer legal market remains encumbered by high costs and complex processes, leaving millions without professional assistance. Lawhive seeks to address this by deploying artificial intelligence to handle repetitive administrative tasks and reduce overheads for clients.
The fresh capital will be directed towards expanding the team, with active recruitment underway for software developers and AI engineers.
From the founder
"Access to the law should be a basic right, available to everyone. Unfortunately this isn’t the case. Our vision is to combine AI and best-in-class lawyers to reduce the time and cost of providing high-quality legal support, increasing access for millions of people who need it."
