Lawhive operates an online legal platform that combines artificial intelligence with a regulated law firm to widen access to legal services. The company provides infrastructure that automates administrative tasks and matches clients with solicitors.

Lawhive has secured £1.7m in seed funding to expand access to legal services for consumers and small businesses in the UK. The round was led by Episode 1 Ventures, with participation from Tiny VC and a group of twenty-five angel investors including senior executives from notable technology firms.

The capital will be directed towards growing product, engineering, and operations teams, alongside further development of the company legal knowledge graph and platform automation. Lawhive combines artificial intelligence with regulated solicitors to automate administrative tasks and reduce consumer legal costs.

The funding arrives as demand for affordable legal assistance grows amid economic pressure on households and smaller enterprises. Lawhive aims to scale its operations to help significantly more customers over the coming year.

From the founder

Through AI and automation, we’ve been able to help thousands of people who wouldn’t otherwise have had access to legal help. We are thrilled to have backing from investors who share our vision of changing the way people access the law and get legal help"
