Lab 1 provides a contextual knowledge graph of data breaches to help organisations quantify cybersecurity risk across global supply chains. The platform processes billions of data entities to transform stolen information into actionable intelligence.

Cybersecurity firm Lab 1 has secured £1m in a new funding round supported by a syndicate of venture capital funds and angel investors. Participants in the raise include MMC Ventures, SyndicateRoom, Alan Morgan and Cris Conde.

The capital will be directed towards accelerating product engineering and commercial growth following three years of underlying research and development. Lab 1 has built a proprietary database mapping compromised data entities to help enterprises monitor vendor exposure.

The company currently serves clients including a Five Eyes defence force. The platform compiles intelligence from forums, code repositories and the dark web to deliver near real-time risk assessments.

Investor perspective

"Misuse of data and criminal activity affect every part of the supply chain and create risks to corporate performance and reputation. The potential for Lab 1 is compelling: Lab1 tools strengthen cybersecurity across the entire supply chain and make companies more robust."
