The Yorkshire-based trivia software company raised the capital from business angels including Rob Wilmot.
KwizzBit operates an online quiz platform that uses smartphone technology to deliver interactive trivia experiences for live and virtual events. The company adapted its offering during the pandemic to serve corporate clients and launched white label solutions alongside a play-at-home option.
Yorkshire-based interactive trivia platform KwizzBit has secured £250k in a seed funding round from business angels, including technology entrepreneur Rob Wilmot. The company plans to use the capital to support product development, notably the release of KwizzBit 2.0, and to drive customer expansion globally.
Founded in 2017 by Mark Walsh, the firm pivoted during the pandemic to deliver virtual live events for major corporate clients and introduced white label solutions. The round remains open for a potential additional £150k following interest from other parties.
From the founder
"The investment from experienced business angels, as well as our partnership with Parallax will support the release of KwizzBit 2.0, which will give us the capacity to run live events to over 100,000 participants in a single game. New innovative feature releases will allow us to improve game-play and develop new game formats. It’s our aim to connect 100,000 hosts with 5 million players by 2023."

Investor perspective
"This isn’t normally a sector that I would invest in. However, I was impressed with the vision and values of the company along with the background and passion of the team. Their potential to scale is huge. It’s very satisfying to have added a Yorkshire-based company to my investment portfolio and I look forward to helping Mark and his team achieve the success they deserve."
