Kuato Studios secures £4.5m in seed funding from Horizons Ventures to launch virtual reality title
The London-based educational gaming studio raised the capital from Horizons Ventures to debut its first virtual reality game.
Kuato Studios is a British educational gaming developer that creates interactive applications and entertainment titles for children. The studio builds award-winning apps and partners with major media brands such as Disney and Marvel.
Kuato Studios has secured £4.5m in a seed financing round led by Horizons Ventures to launch its first virtual reality title. The capital will support the company as it moves into the virtual reality market with a newly patented platform. The new funding enables the developer to expand its interactive gaming offerings while maintaining its educational focus.
The London-based studio is using the investment to introduce 'Panic Room', a cross-platform virtual reality title powered by its proprietary Actor and Director technology. The system allows users in a headset to interact with a 3D environment while other participants monitor and engage through secondary devices like mobile phones or tablets. The company intends to apply this shared approach across its existing portfolio of titles.
