Koto Card operates as a digital credit provider built on e-money to offer fixed-fee financial products for near-prime consumers. The firm combines alternative data with traditional scoring methods to assess creditworthiness.

Koto Card has secured £1.3m in a seed follow-on investment round to support its official launch in the United Kingdom. The company provides regulated financial services tailored to near-prime consumers who are often underserved by high street institutions. The fresh capital will be directed towards user acquisition, risk modelling improvements, and team expansion as the business establishes its British operations.

From the founder

"Despite being the founder of a successful business in Ukraine, when I first moved to London I was unable to access credit from high street banks. This is because I was considered “thin file” – I didn’t have a UK credit history the banks could base a decision on."
