Koru Kids operates an online platform that matches families with trained nannies and manages administrative tasks such as contracts, payroll and pensions. The service aims to alleviate the childcare burden for working parents while offering flexible employment for students and older adults.

Koru Kids has secured £10m in Series A funding led by Atomico to scale its childcare services. The round included participation from earlier backers AlbionVC, Forward Partners, Samos, JamJar, Global Founders Capital and 7Percent, bringing the company's total funding to £14.1m.

The capital will be deployed to expand sole care and nanny-share offerings, develop new products and services, launch in new geographic markets and grow the internal team. As part of the investment transaction, Atomico Partner Niall Wass will take a seat on the board of directors.

From the founder

"Despite being critical infrastructure for our society, childcare has been overlooked for far too long. We’ve already seen how profoundly our services can improve the well-being of families, as well as older adults and children who have a chance to connect with another generation while working. We’re excited for Atomico to help us scale our vision of building a completely new way of doing childcare so even more families can benefit."
