Belfast-based maths learning platform Komodo has secured £255k in a seed funding round backed by a collective of high-profile angel investors from the Halo Fund and London. The company offers a home tutoring system for children aged 5 to 11 on tablets and computers, encouraging parental involvement in STEM subjects.
The newly acquired capital will be directed towards further product development, expanding sales operations, and accelerating growth. Co-founder Gerard McBreen noted that the investment will help children reach their true potential by improving mathematical skills.
Alan Watts, Director of the Halo programme, highlighted the rising interest from external investors in Northern Ireland's knowledge economy. He pointed to the region's vibrant startup scene and lower investor competition as key advantages for backers.
