Hypetex manufactures coloured carbon fibre and advanced materials using a sustainable water-based resin system that eliminates the need for traditional painting.

Hypetex has secured £1.3m in a seed funding round led by 24Haymarket, with participation from Oxford Innovation EIS Growth Fund 2. The company produces coloured carbon fibre and advanced materials designed to eliminate the need for painting, thereby improving production efficiencies and reducing environmental impact.

The capital will be used to scale up the business footprint and support larger programmes with major brands across multiple sectors. Additionally, the funds will assist in expanding the product range to include sustainable natural fibre products.

Marc Cohen, chief executive of Hypetex, noted that the continued research has yielded a lightweight and strong composite material that pushes design boundaries while reducing reliance on traditional finishes. Richard Cooper of Oxford Innovation Finance highlighted that the technology addresses environmental concerns by cutting the energy and carbon emissions associated with paint application.
