Humley secures £700k in seed follow-on funding to scale operations
The Northampton-based conversational assistant developer raised the capital from backers including Mercia and the Midlands Engine Investment Fund.
Humley develops conversational assistants that manage helpdesks and answer technical enquiries for enterprise clients. The firm originated in 2017 as a spin-out from mobile payments provider Infomedia.
Conversational assistant developer Humley has secured £700k in a seed follow-on investment round. The capital was provided by the MEIF Proof of Concept and Early Stage Fund managed by Mercia, alongside Mercia's own EIS funds and a private investor.
The fresh funding will be directed towards scaling operations, growing the customer base, and increasing revenue ahead of an anticipated Series A round next year. This latest injection brings the Northampton-based company's total funds raised to £1.4m.
Established initially as an Infomedia spin-out in 2017, Humley supplies automated support tools that integrate with robotic process automation and artificial intelligence technologies.
From the founder
"This investment round represents a significant endorsement of our technology. The conversational AI market is very noisy with many big players. Our unique approach has made us the platform of choice for many global players and has allowed us to roll out our technology. This investment enables us to further establish ourselves in the market as a leading provider of conventional AI for enterprise and take the business to the next level."
