Howbout secures £1.9m in seed funding from ACF Investors and others to scale its social planning platform.
The London-based startup raised £1.9m from a syndicate including ACF Investors and Supernode Global to fuel international expansion and product development.
Howbout is a social planning application designed to help groups of friends coordinate schedules and organise shared activities. The platform centralises calendar sharing and availability matching to simplify group social lives.
Howbout, a London-based social planning startup, has secured £1.9m in a seed funding round backed by ACF Investors, Supernode Global, Boost Capital, and angel investors Claire Valoti and Desigan Chinniah. The capital will support the company's international expansion, recruitment efforts, and ongoing technology development.
Founded in August 2020, the platform provides smart availability matching, calendar sharing, and polling tools to help users organise plans across different friendship groups. The application has recorded over 500,000 downloads and facilitates millions of plans globally, tapping into a broader market shift toward private social networks.
From the founder
"Let’s face it – making plans with friends can be draining. The faff of finding a time that works for everyone and then agreeing what you’re doing and where you’re doing it usually stops the majority of plans from happening."

CEO at Howbout
Investor perspective
"Howbout’s organic global growth is a testament to how much value users are getting out of this app. The existing social media giants are so often in the headlines – rarely for a good reason – that we forget that this is an area that is actually ripe for innovation."
