£600KSeed

Hicomply provides a software platform that helps small and medium enterprises automate information security compliance and build management systems. The company enables businesses to secure data, manage risk, and prepare for audits efficiently.

Durham-based Hicomply has secured £600k in a seed round to finalise product development and scale its operations. The investment was backed by angel investors alongside the North East Innovation Fund. Northstar Ventures managed the transaction, drawing support from the European Regional Development Fund.

The firm provides software that assists organisations in establishing security systems, safeguarding data and mitigating compliance risks. The fresh capital will allow the company to accelerate the commercial launch of its platform into international markets.

The business is led by local entrepreneurs Ed Bartlett, Nick Graham and Marius Van Aswegen, who previously founded and exited Kykloud.

From the founder

"According to IBM, the average cost of a data breach in 2020 was £2.9 million. Yet most businesses are left with inefficient, costly and paper-heavy manual processes to manage this risk."
