Gousto secures £18m in equity funding from new and existing investors to accelerate technology development.
The meal kit company adds backing from Joe Wicks alongside existing shareholders including MMC Ventures and Unilever Ventures.
Gousto operates a recipe box service in the United Kingdom, delivering meal kits directly to consumers.
Gousto has secured £18m in equity funding, adding to a total of £75m raised since its inception. The fresh capital comes from new investor Joe Wicks alongside existing backers MMC Ventures, Unilever Ventures, Hargreave Hale, BGF Ventures, and Angel CoFund.
The company has reported 170 percent year-on-year growth and currently delivers over 1.5 million meals per month to UK households. Previous funding secured in March 2018 enabled the firm to double its factory capacity and launch an artificial intelligence recipe recommendation tool.
Gousto intends to direct the majority of the new proceeds towards technology investments to support further expansion and reach its long-term operational targets.
