Glox Therapeutics develops precision antibiotic therapies using naturally occurring bacteriocins to target antimicrobial-resistant pathogens. The company emerged as a spin-out from the Universities of Glasgow and Oxford.
Glox Therapeutics has secured £4.3m in seed funding to accelerate the development of its precision bacteriocin platform. The investment was co-led by Boehringer Ingelheim Venture Fund and Scottish Enterprise.
The capital will be deployed to establish new laboratories in Oxford and Glasgow, alongside expanding the specialist team to advance the company programme targeting resistant Gram-negative bacteria.
The spin-out draws upon academic research from the Universities of Glasgow and Oxford to create narrow-spectrum therapeutics designed to eradicate harmful pathogens without damaging the wider human microbiome.
