Gigl provides a video first recruitment platform designed to streamline hiring for public facing industries such as hospitality. The mobile app replaces traditional CV screening with short introductory clips from both employers and candidates.

London based recruitment platform gigl has secured £1.1m in seed funding to accelerate its growth across the UK and support international expansion. The round was led by Cerebrrum Tech with backing from OxBridge Angels and notable angel investors including serial events entrepreneurs and the former chief financial officer of Deliveroo.

The fresh capital will be deployed to expand marketing reach, enhance technology offerings and target small and medium sized enterprises. The injection arrives as the hospitality sector contends with widespread staff shortages and hundreds of thousands of open roles, positioning the platform to capitalise on increased demand for digital hiring solutions.

Since launch, gigl has recorded nearly 40,000 jobseeker downloads and attracted major brands such as Hard Rock Hotel, Subway and Tortilla. The service merges application, screening and first round interviews into a concise mobile format to reduce hiring times.

From the founder

"having managed over 10,000 hiring processes in previous roles, the efficiency that gigl brings is game changing. No more generic CV’s, no more backwards and forwards messages to organise interviews, and every candidate that applies is highly informed of the role and really wanting to work there."
