FundamentalVR has raised $20m in Series B funding to scale its immersive medical simulation platform and expand operations in the United States. The financing round was led by EQT Life Sciences, with participation from Downing Ventures.
The London-based company plans to allocate the capital towards further product development, machine learning data insights, and broader US market penetration. Its technology integrates virtual and mixed reality with haptic feedback to simulate surgical procedures for medical professionals worldwide.
As part of the transaction, Drew Burdon from lead investor EQT Life Sciences will join the company board of directors.
