Friska operates a chain of food-to-go restaurants offering ethically sourced meals and coffee across multiple UK locations.
Friska has secured £3m in funding from YFM Equity Partners, with additional backing from Santander, to expand its restaurant network across regional UK cities. The investment aims to double the company store count over the next three years, building on its presence in Bristol, Birmingham, and Luton Airport.
Founded in 2009, the chain offers sustainably sourced food and coffee throughout the day. Alongside the capital injection, former wagamama chief executive Steve Hill will join the firm as Non-Executive Chairman to guide the upcoming expansion phase.
From the founder
"Over the past seven years, we have been honing our menu, the way our stores look and feel, our brand and of course our operating systems. We feel confident that now is the right time to bring our feel good food (and coffee) to cities around the UK and working with YFM and Steve will allow us to do this faster and better, just like our food."

Investor perspective
"We are thrilled to be supporting Griff and Ed on the next stage of their journey with Friska. They have built a fantastic brand with a high quality breakfast and lunch food offering which customers love.
