Fotenix builds AI-powered agricultural diagnostics platforms that generate three-dimensional digital crop models for early disease detection. The Greater Manchester enterprise combines multi-spectral imaging and robotics to help farmers protect yields and reduce pesticide dependency.
Manchester-based agricultural technology firm Fotenix has secured an investment from River Capital through its Fund:AI vehicle. The capital injection is intended to support the company as it scales its operations and extends its reach within high-value horticultural markets, including the glasshouse sector.
Fotenix combines hyperspectral imaging with artificial intelligence to help farmers identify early signs of crop disease and pest stress. The platform allows growers to apply targeted interventions, reducing their reliance on chemical inputs such as fertilisers and pesticides while optimising water and energy consumption.
The latest funding will also enable the business to expand its headcount as it looks to meet growing industry demand for sustainable, data-driven farming solutions.
