Forth Therapeutics launches with €165m from Sofinnova Partners and Old College Capital
The financing from Sofinnova Partners and Old College Capital will support the launch of precision fibrosis therapeutics.
Forth Therapeutics is a biotechnology company advancing precision medicines for fibrosis across multiple organ systems. Operating from Edinburgh and Cambridge, the business builds on academic research from the University of Edinburgh.
Forth Therapeutics has launched with €165m from Sofinnova Partners and Old College Capital. The funding comes via Sofinnova, which created the biotechnology company through its Biovelocita II fund. Based in Edinburgh and Cambridge, the business will advance its precision therapeutics platform for fibrosis.
The enterprise draws on academic research from Professor Neil Henderson at the University of Edinburgh and leverages a large single-cell human liver disease dataset. Alex Leech serves as chief executive, steering the company alongside its backers as it develops targeted treatments.
