FLock.io secures £4.8m seed funding from Lightspeed Faction and Tagus Capital to advance machine learning platform
The seed round was led by Lightspeed Faction and Tagus Capital to support the continuous development of the company machine learning infrastructure.
FLock.io operates a decentralized machine learning platform designed to decentralize artificial intelligence governance and model training. The London based startup enables communities to collaborate on proprietary data and model specialization.
FLock.io has secured £4.8m in a seed financing round led jointly by Lightspeed Faction and Tagus Capital. Additional participation came from DCG, OKX Ventures, and Volt Capital. The capital will support ongoing development of the company machine learning and federated learning infrastructure as it seeks to shift artificial intelligence governance away from centralized entities.
The London based startup plans to deploy its federated learning platform in the second quarter. The system aims to encourage collaborative model training through open leaderboards and community driven reward criteria.
From the founder
"With FLock, now anyone can contribute to AI development by offering compute, data, or training scripts; the barrier to participation is much lower. This results in community-owned models built by the many, not just the few, with data contributors being fairly rewarded."

Investor perspective
"The rapid growth of AI has been met with increasing data privacy and regulatory concerns. By combining blockchain and federated learning technologies, FLock seeks to solve this and unlock broader participation in AI model training. We are excited to be a part of FLock’s mission to redefine AI innovation through its decentralized training and finetuning platform."
