Figura Analytics has secured £180k in seed funding from private investors and SFC Capital. The capital will support the business as it advances its nanotechnology platform and manufacturing capabilities.
Spinning out from Loughborough University earlier in the year, the nanotechnology firm utilises microfluidics, sensors and software algorithms to characterise particles in solution. The technology aims to streamline quality control and replace traditional microbiological tests within the drinks manufacturing sector.
Led by a team including CEO Nick Whitehurst and academic founders Mark Platt and Rhush Maugi, the company is preparing for commercial production in 2022. It is currently collaborating with national and international industry partners alongside the Manufacturing and Technology Centre.
