Eventum Orthopaedics raises £1.4m from Mercia to commercialise knee surgery sensor device.
The seed investment from Mercia and private backers will fund product finalisation and commercial launch.
Eventum Orthopaedics develops sensor technology designed to improve patient outcomes in knee replacement procedures. Based in Yorkshire, the medtech firm creates intraoperative measurement devices.
Eventum Orthopaedics has secured £1.4m in seed funding to bring its orthopaedic sensor technology to market. The round was backed by Mercia via NPIF and its EIS funds, alongside private investors including orthopaedic surgeons.
The capital will enable the Ilkley-based medtech start-up to finalise product development and launch its device commercially in 2022. The company focuses on real-time kneecap positioning measurements to assist surgeons during total knee replacements.
