A British artificial intelligence startup building world models for robotics and simulation.
Emulate is reportedly in advanced negotiations to raise up to $700m in a funding round that could value the artificial intelligence startup at $3.7bn. The round is expected to be jointly led by Index Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners.
Founded in August by former Google DeepMind researchers Jack Parker-Holder, Matthew McGill, and Philip Ball, the company focuses on developing world models capable of forecasting real-world scenarios for robotics and simulation engines. The capital would bolster the newly formed enterprise as it enters the competitive sector of physical AI.
The potential raise follows a trend of prominent DeepMind spin-offs securing substantial early-stage backing in the United Kingdom. Emulate has yet to release a commercial product or launch a public website as negotiations progress.
