The financing round was led by Lunar Ventures to support product commercialisation and clinical development.
Emm is a biowearable technology company that develops connected health solutions for menstrual monitoring. The business combines medical grade materials with advanced sensor hardware to deliver personalised physiological insights.
London based biowearable pioneer Emm has secured 6.8m in an oversubscribed seed funding round to commercialise its smart menstrual cup and companion application. The financing was led by Lunar Ventures, with participation from the Labcorp Venture Fund, Tiny VC, BlueLion Global, Alumni Ventures, and several high profile angel investors.
The capital will support the company as it prepares for a consumer launch in the UK scheduled for early 2026. In addition, the funds will accelerate clinical product development efforts aimed at improving the diagnosis and treatment of reproductive and menstrual health conditions.
The business addresses a significant gap in preventative health by providing objective metrics on menstrual flow volume and cycle regularity. Founded in 2020, the firm seeks to establish a new category of intelligent menstrual care backed by extensive design iterations and user testing.
From the founder
"Menstruation is known as the fifth vital sign, but has historically been overlooked by the wearable sector, leaving millions without the data they need to understand and advocate for their own bodies. We envision a future where menstrual health is measured and understood as comprehensively as cardiovascular or metabolic health, giving people access to objective, actionable insights to better manage their health and wellbeing."
Jenny Button
Founder and CEO at Emm
Investor perspective
"We’re proud to back Jenny and the Emm team as they build the foundational technology to transform women’s health and drive measurable impact in chronic diseases. At Lunar, we invest in founders tackling complex engineering challenges across data, materials, and biological systems, and Emm exemplifies this with its world-class hardware and high-fidelity data. Their world-first platform has the potential to redefine standards of care and data quality in menstrual health and beyond."
