Anthemis led the seed round to support product development and customer acquisition at Ember.
Ember is a financial technology company that integrates essential accounting and tax tools directly into banking platforms for small businesses. The firm partners with major financial institutions to simplify tax management and administrative workflows.
Tax-tech startup Ember has secured £1.6m in a seed funding round led by Anthemis to accelerate its growth and product development. The fresh capital will also support customer acquisition and recruitment efforts as the company scales its automated accounting platform for small businesses. Existing backers Innovation Nest and Spring Ventures also participated in the round.
Founded in 2019, Ember provides real-time financial tracking and automated tax filing for freelancers and contractors across the UK. The platform integrates with open banking to simplify compliance and offers direct support from financial experts.
