Elm is a London based technology startup that provides an all in one data tool for fast moving consumer goods brands. The platform unifies retail and ecommerce sales data to help suppliers generate actionable insights.

London based technology startup Elm has secured £250k in pre-seed funding to support product development and user acquisition. The investment was backed by a group of twelve angel investors, including prominent industry figures Jon Rudoe and Ed Freyfogle.

The capital will be directed towards expanding the engineering team and driving paid acquisition efforts. This funding follows the company's beta launch earlier in the year and coincides with its official public release, with early adopters already including challenger brands such as Minor Figures, Livia's and Teapigs.

From the founder

"The future of retail is built on data, but today’s FMCG data systems are beyond inefficient, and challenger brands are paying the heaviest price. We’re excited to use this investment to bring big brand data power to every supplier, to make sure brands are judged by the quality of their products, not the size of their data team."

Investor perspective

"elm is solving data problems that have slowed the industry for years. It’s already saving brands valuable time and unlocking the sort of insight previously reserved for big name suppliers. Cian, Emily and the elm team are passionate about helping brands use data to grow, and I’m delighted to play a part in that mission."
