Dubit raises £6m in seed investment to launch metaverse esports and live events
The seed round was led by Metaventures and Jean-Charles Capelli to fund metaverse expansion.
Dubit is a games studio and developer of virtual worlds that builds games and experiences for major global brands. The company has a twenty-year history of creating virtual environments and is now expanding its presence across leading metaverse platforms.
Dubit has secured £6m in seed investment to support the launch of its Metaverse Gaming League and expand its activities in virtual worlds. The funding round was led by Metaventures alongside French investor Jean-Charles Capelli, valuing the studio at £55m.
The capital will enable the company to scale up its live esports tournaments and interactive events within platforms such as Roblox, Minecraft and Core. Dubit will also use the funds to build on its two decades of experience in creating virtual worlds and brand partnerships.
The investment positions the studio to further develop music and fashion experiences for users across multiple metaverse environments.
Investor perspective
"Dubit is in the perfect position to take advantage of the new opportunities in the metaverse. No other company has 20 years experience in developing and launching virtual worlds, combined with a great network of brands and organisations that it works with around the world. As an entrepreneur and musician, I’m proud to invest in Dubit, and I’m excited to help scale up the incredible experiences it creates for users of Roblox and other metaverses."
