The Nottinghamshire security firm has secured backing from a US corporate investor to develop detection capabilities and hire specialists.
Drone Defence is a security firm based in Retford that provides products designed to protect critical infrastructure, prisons and VIPs from the risks of unauthorised drone use.
Drone Defence has secured £500k in seed funding from an undisclosed United States corporate backer. The capital will be directed towards advancing proprietary drone detection systems and expanding the team.
Founded in 2016 and based in Retford, the business develops airspace monitoring and mitigation equipment. The fresh injection of capital coincides with a push into the American market.
Chief executive Richard Gill noted that the financing provides a platform for international expansion alongside technology development.
