An agricultural technology firm developing drone systems and smart analytics for crop scouting, spraying, mapping, and automated soil sampling.

Drone Ag has secured more than £350k in grants and private investments to accelerate the development of its automated soil sampling drone solution. The funding comprises a £5.5k grant from the North of Tyne Innovation Recovery Grant, £150k from Innovate UK through the Regional Angel Investment Accelerator programme, and £200k in match funding from angel investors connected via the Newcastle Angel Hub and NorthInvest.

Based in Northumberland, the company provides aerial crop management technology designed to help farmers reduce reliance on tractors and monitor real-time soil health. The fresh capital will support the firm as it brings its commercial soil sampling product to market in early 2023.
