The follow-on investment will support international expansion and product development.
Distributed provides on-demand software engineering teams to help large organisations build and maintain technology products. The company combines freelance talent networks with dedicated project managers to deliver managed development work.
Distributed has raised £8m in a follow-on funding round co-led by Downing Ventures and Guinness Ventures. The capital injection also saw participation from existing backer Fuel Ventures and professional services group Capita. The company will direct the proceeds towards international expansion, product enhancements, and scaling its private talent cloud platform.
The latest financing follows a period of rapid commercial expansion for the firm, which was underpinned by a substantial partnership agreement with BT earlier in the year. Total investment secured by the business now reaches £17m following previous funding rounds, including a Series A raise in May 2021.
