Diffblue develops autonomous generative artificial intelligence software designed to automate unit test generation for development teams. The firm serves major global financial institutions and corporate clients.

Oxford-based software pioneer Diffblue has secured £6.7m in fresh venture funding to expand its artificial intelligence capabilities for code writing. AlbionVC led the round, with participation from existing backers including IP Group, Parkwalk, Hostplus, and Oxford Technology and Innovations EIS Fund.

The capital arrives as the company rolls out new features for its flagship Cover product, designed to help enterprises automate unit testing and refactor Java code. Diffblue plans to deploy the resources to capture a growing share of the global software testing market.

AlbionVC partner Robert Whitby-Smith noted the firm's leadership in AI-augmented coding and its traction among blue-chip clients, particularly in the United States. To date, the company has raised over $40m in venture backing to support its developer productivity tools.
