Della secures £1.9m seed investment from Pragmatech Ventures to expand its legal AI platform.
The legal tech startup has closed a seed round led by Pragmatech Ventures to fund international expansion and product development.
Della develops artificial intelligence software that helps law firms and corporate legal teams accelerate the review and audit of documents. The platform uses transfer learning to allow legal professionals to analyse contracts based on their own queries and checklists.
Legal technology startup Della has secured £1.9m in a seed funding round led by Pragmatech Ventures. The capital will be deployed to expand the company footprint across Europe and the United States, as well as to further develop its underlying artificial intelligence capabilities.
Founded in 2018, Della provides an intuitive platform that enables legal teams to review complex documents and contracts with greater speed and accuracy. The latest investment follows ongoing backing from existing supporters including Thibault Poutrel and Frederic Montagnon as the company scales its operations.
From the founder
"The legal review market has moved away from simple data extraction, to solutions that provide end-to-end support of the entire legal review process. AI has moved up the value chain in legal, and users just don't want to use pre-trained, customized AI, due to the time it takes to train those models and the cost involved in doing that. Larger transfer learning-based models, like Della's, are replacing those legacy solutions, and we are enabling lawyers to use AI to help with more and more complex tasks."
