Deep Render raises £1.6m in seed funding led by Pentech and Speedinvest for image compression technology

The London startup secured backing from Pentech and Speedinvest to drive the development of its neural image compression software.
Deep Render develops neural video compression technology designed to reduce file sizes and alleviate internet bandwidth pressure. Its software functions across existing hardware to improve streaming quality and lower delivery costs.
Deep Render has secured £1.6m in seed funding to advance its next-generation image compression technology. The round was led by Pentech, with participation from Speedinvest.
Evolving out of Imperial College London, the company has rebuilt image compression from the ground up to imitate human visual processing. The resulting algorithm cuts file sizes to a tenth of current industry standards while preserving visual fidelity.
The fresh capital will be directed towards further product development as surging global data demand strains existing digital infrastructure.

We are more sensitive to the colour green as it represents fertile areas with food and water; we notice the slightest of movements in still scenes, as this helps us flee from sneaking predators."
