Dataseat is a London-based technology startup that provides a demand side platform allowing mobile app advertisers to manage programmatic media buying internally. The platform includes built-in analytics software for campaign visibility, attribution accuracy, and fraud prevention.
London-based advertising technology startup Dataseat has secured £1.8m in a seed funding round. The investment syndicate comprises Play Ventures, Backed, and SAATCHiNVEST, alongside angel investors Eric Eichmann and Jonathan Wolf.
The funds follow a twelve-month beta phase for the company, which licences its demand side platform directly to brands to grant greater transparency and control over programmatic media buying. The technology also integrates analytics software to monitor campaign performance and combat advertising fraud.
The business was established by serial entrepreneurs David Philippson and Paul Hayton, who previously founded Ad-X Tracking before its acquisition by Criteo. The fresh capital will support the ongoing expansion and deployment of their transparent advertising infrastructure.
From the founder
"Fraud has had a massive negative impact on our industry, as fraudsters thrive in environments where there is little transparency and multiple middle men. By in-housing, advertisers change the way they buy; to CPM as opposed to CPI (cost per install), which removes the incentive for bad actors."
David Philippson
co-founder and CEO at Dataseat
Investor perspective
"We believe that democratising ad-buying is a massive opportunity, and that Dataseat is the best team to deliver this game-changer in performance marketing."
