Cypher secures £225k from angel investors to scale its online and in-person coding camps.
The funding round was led by angel investors and brings the company's total raise to £670k.
Cypher provides creatively themed coding courses for children aged six to twelve. The business pivoted to an online model during the pandemic and now serves pupils across multiple countries.
Cypher has secured £225k in a seed funding round led by a series of angel investors, bringing its total funds raised to £670k. The capital injection arrives following the edtech company's rapid pivot to online delivery ahead of the coronavirus lockdown.
The business intends to deploy the fresh capital to accelerate growth by scaling both its digital camps and its physical summer offerings. Over recent months, the firm has engaged more than 350 children through over 3,700 online learning hours.
Founder and chief executive Elizabeth Tweedale noted that the funding will also support broader international expansion efforts, targeting markets in the United States and the Middle East.
From the founder
"Throughout lockdown our aim has been to keep children learning and engaged, as the ability for children to learn how to code is key in preparing them for their futures."
