Creature Comforts is a British pet technology startup that combines physical veterinary clinics with digital care services.

Creature Comforts has secured £7m in seed funding to expand its veterinary care model across London. The investment round was co-led by Torch Capital, Hanaco, and Boost Capital Partners, with participation from Active Partners, Tarek Abuzayyad, and Steve Rosengarten.

The capital will support the opening of the company's first two physical branches in the capital, starting with a St John's Wood site, alongside the rollout of a proprietary application for round-the-clock virtual consultations. The company also intends to pilot a monthly subscription membership for pet owners that includes routine treatments and unlimited advice.

The business was established to address severe staffing shortages and appointment backlogs across the domestic veterinary sector. Its operating model includes profit shares for clinical staff and flexible working hours to combat industry burnout.

From the founder

"Our goal is healthier pets and happier vets. We want to fix the state of affairs for animals, customers and veterinary teams all at the same time because, right now, no one is winning. When you can access it, vet care in the UK is almost always exemplary, but the experience around it is broken."

Investor perspective

"Creature Comforts' integrated approach, combining telehealth consultations with aesthetically beautiful and digitally enabled in-person clinics, prioritises both the customer experience and the wellbeing of veterinary staff. Having seen the tremendous value this model has provided both consumers and vets in the US, we are incredibly excited by what the business is set to achieve across the UK."
