Cord has secured £12.9m in Series A funding to expand its collaborative software platform. The round was led by Index Ventures, with participation from NFX, Stride, and several prominent angel investors.
The capital injection follows strong demand for workplace collaboration tools amid the shift toward remote working. Cord provides an API that lets developers add rich social features, such as chat and annotations, directly into existing applications.
The company also announced a partnership with Typeform to integrate its collaborative features for more than 100,000 customers. Cord intends to use the new funds to further its vision of unifying communication and productivity tools across the web.
