Cloudsmith provides a cloud-native platform for managing and securing software packages and dependencies across development environments.

Belfast based software logistics provider Cloudsmith has secured £2.1m in a seed funding round. Frontline Ventures led the investment, with participation from MMC Ventures and Techstart Ventures. The capital will support research, development, and marketing efforts as the company launches a universal artifact caching service.

The fresh funding arrives following an earlier pre-seed investment this year. Cloudsmith plans to use the proceeds to accelerate its technical capabilities and bring its new caching layer to market, aiming to improve performance and resilience for software delivery teams globally.

From the founder

"We believe that the concept of provenance will play a defining role in the future of software security and quality. All companies need end-to-end visibility and control of the assets in their software pipelines. It’s important to have the support of Frontline and MMC as we enter this critical stage in Cloudsmith’s growth,"
