CattleEye is a Belfast-based livestock monitoring technology company that uses deep learning video analytics to track the health and welfare of ruminant livestock. Its platform is designed to improve dairy cow performance while reducing carbon emissions.

Belfast-based livestock monitoring technology company CattleEye has raised £1.8m in a seed investment round. The funding was led by Techstart Ventures, with participation from Paris-based Seventure Partners and Silicon Valley-backed Turntide Technologies.

The capital will be deployed to bring the firm's autonomous livestock welfare and performance monitoring product to market, aiming to enhance animal welfare and reduce carbon emission intensity in dairy farming.

CattleEye applies deep learning artificial intelligence to video feeds, enabling the detection of locomotion deviations and lameness in dairy cows without requiring physical tags or devices. The technology has undergone academic validation and is currently being utilised by pioneer farms alongside major retailers such as Tesco and Marks & Spencer.
