Cardiff-based online learning platform Careercake has secured over £300k in its latest funding round. The investment was led by existing backer the Development Bank of Wales, alongside a consortium of angel investors including Sunnybarn Investments. The company intends to direct the new capital towards accelerating brand growth and expanding its platform proposition.
Launched in 2010 by chief executive Aimee Bateman, the platform provides subscription-based career development content to help employees build workplace confidence. The fresh funding follows previous investment from Gocompare.com founders Hayley Parsons and Kevin Hughes, as well as board chairman Ashley Cooper.
