Carbon Fibre Preforms raises £1.1m to scale commercial production of heat-resistant materials.

The funding round was led by Midven alongside private investor network Growthdeck.

£1.1M

Carbon Fibre Preforms manufactures ultra-lightweight and cost-efficient heat resistant materials for industrial applications.

Carbon Fibre Preforms has secured £1.1m in funding after extending its initial £778k target due to investor demand. Growthdeck participated in the round alongside venture capital lead investor Midven.

The proceeds will be used to purchase specialist machinery to support increased commercial production. The company is targeting global demand across aeronautical, shipbuilding, train, and oil and gas sectors.

Carbon Fibre Preforms is currently in discussions with cruise ship builders Mayer Werft and STX, and maintains a strategic partnership with Toray Industries.

Investor perspective

"As soon as I visited their West Midlands production facility, I could see Carbon Fibre Preforms had the potential to become a great British engineering success story. This investment is also a first for us, co-investing with the Midven VC team, who have also bought into the potential markets for CFP’s revolutionary material."
