An online retailer offering a curated selection of durable, long-lasting consumer goods designed to counter disposable culture.

BuyMeOnce has secured £550k in a funding round backed by members of Green Angel Syndicate. The company operates an online retail platform focused on durable, long-lasting products designed to reduce consumer waste.

The capital will support the growth of the business as it pursues its ambition to become a central destination for sustainable goods. Following the investment, Green Angel Syndicate member Rachel Owen is joining the board as a non-executive director.

Founded by author Tara Button, the company offers a range of items from clothing to kitchenware selected for their longevity and environmental credentials.

Investor perspective

"I hate fast fashion and loathe products which are designed to break or wear out quickly. I also don't much like shopping. BuyMeOnce is a revelation. The best due diligence you can do on an investment is to use it before you invest, and for me buying clothes and kit from BuyMeOnce has been a really pleasurable experience. BuyMeOnce ticks all the boxes – it is an exciting high growth company which reduces waste and cuts the time I have to spend doing things I don't like."
