Buddybounce secures seed capital from Angel Academe to grow its fan engagement platform
The pro-women angel network makes its first-ever investment, led by Hannah O'Shaunessy.
Buddybounce provides an online engagement platform that helps music artists and management teams identify and interact with their most passionate fans. The beta site has attracted over 25000 registered users since its launch.
Angel Academe has made its debut investment by providing seed capital to Buddybounce. The London-based startup, launched in April 2013, has built an online tool designed to help artists and management teams identify and engage with super-fans.
The funding will support the company as it builds on early momentum that has already attracted over 25000 registered users to its beta site. Hannah O'Shaunessy led the investment round and will join the Buddybounce board in a hands-on capacity. Additional backing comes from advisors Alicia Navarro and Geoff Heath OBE.
Buddybounce has previously worked with acts and brands including Transmitter, Union J, and Conor Maynard, offering prizes such as meet and greets and gig tickets to drive engagement.
From the founder
"the rise of social media has allowed fans to get closer to artists in a way that never existed before. When artists start having fans across various social media platforms, managing their relationship with them becomes tricky. We are here to help to provide them with a solution."

Investor perspective
"we loved Emma and Giulia’s passion, we were very impressed by the momentum they’d achieved so far with extremely limited resources and immediately, crucially for us, saw where we could add value to their business."
