QVentures has backed the online marketplace for affordable art in its latest seed round.
Brushwrk operates an online marketplace and community connecting emerging artists with buyers of affordable original art. The platform uses a discovery algorithm to help consumers find pieces matching their tastes.
Brushwrk has secured seed investment from QVentures to support its online art marketplace. The funding will assist the platform as it connects emerging artists with digital-first buyers and challenges traditional models in the art sector. QVentures backed the round as part of its strategy to invest in early-stage enterprises. The company was established by a team with backgrounds in machine learning, Google marketing, and editorial work, targeting a younger demographic of art collectors.
From the founder
"At BRUSHWRK, we’re dismantling the traditional and often exclusionary paradigms of the art world. It’s a pleasure partnering up with investors, such as QVentures, who believe in our fight and want to join us on our journey of bringing new life to art in a modern world."
Odie Edo-Osagie
Founder at BRUSHWRK
Investor perspective
"Millennials and Gen-Z are buying art like never before. The alternatives to access affordable art today are not specifically designed to trade art and so the process to discover as a buyer and upload as an artist is dull and unfit for purpose. We believe that digital art is the stepping stone for millennials and Gen-Z to engage with the NFT market and are very excited to be supporting Odie and the BRUSHWRK team as they challenge traditional ways of the art market."
