London-based startup Breakroom has secured £4.9m in seed funding to expand its job comparison platform for shift and hourly workers. The round was co-led by PROfounders and Revent, with participation from Northzone, Nomad Capital, and several prominent angel investors.
The capital will support the company's efforts to improve working conditions for hourly employees by providing transparent crowdsourced data on employers. Breakroom intends to use the fresh funds to scale its reach and help businesses solve labour shortages by making their roles more competitive.
The company leverages insights gathered from over 160,000 employees across 1,400 UK employers, evaluating aspects such as pay, sick leave, and flexible shift patterns.
